. Next Saturday she - Jinja - will be 9 weeks old and is coming home. One of a litter of 5 ( 2 dogs 3 bitches ) from hunting parents and hunting family. Have wanted a Border for some years now. Plan is to train her up for blood trailing, fox hunting underground and driven wild boar! Thats the plan! So looking forward to a terrier in the house! And ps. she will not be sitting on the couch when she comes home to us! . "Up the ladders and down the snakes!"

Congratulations Charlie! I have a 2 year old Border Terrier and we are are about attached at the hip. When I am home he hardly leaves my side and follows me around the house and everywhere else! They are very rare here in the states; I had to travel across two states to get mine. He has been great so far. Although I have not hunted with it, I do plan on taking it out more with me next year. I love this breed. They are a small dog with a big dog personality (if that makes sense). Please keep us posted on the training!

. Jason thank you. Small dog with a terrier heart and passion! I guess there are over 500 Borders actively hunting in Germany and then quite a few household pet Borders. Have liked the breed for a long time and finally found the right one! Happy days ! . "Up the ladders and down the snakes!"

Charlie: I need to attempt to post pics. Those markings on your pup are very similar to ours. We do not have many blood trailing dogs here. In fact, a few years back it was illegal to use them in our state for trailing big game. That law has fortunately changed. Please keep us posted on how it goes. I’m going on a rare grouse hunt tomorrow (I rarely ever hunt them). I might take my dog and see how he’d react.

. Hey Jason, When I say blood trailing I mean following up on wounded / lost game animals. That was illegal your side ?? Borders are used extensively here for driven hunts and especially wildboar plus follow up on wounded / lost game. Will post progress as and when ! Charlie . Charlie: Yes, it was illegal in our state to use dogs for blood trailing wounded game. This was a ridiculous law that was fortunately changed. With the exception of bear, mountain lions, coyotes, fox, you could not use dogs for big game hunting or trailing lost animals. You still cannot hunt big game here with dogs but like I said, it is now legal to recover wounded animals with them. I’ll look forward to your progress….
