Hi, I'm looking for a new home. I love hunting, fishing, long walks on the beach, and being a great wrestling partner for the kids.

Won't you please adopt me?

Me too....

Don't forget me!!!

Unfortunately, not, unless you consider the adoption paperwork fees are $750. Big Grin

Naw, he wants to go hunting and be your buddy!!!!!! They're at the stage now where you can start with the potty training. So, we get them out in the yard as much as possible to start with that little exercise, especially when they wake up from naps.

The Wachtelhund is a medium size dog (40-60 lbs), with thick wavy hair similar to a spaniel. They are a flushing retriever classified as a versatile breed hunting upland game birds, waterfowl and fur. Hardy, courageous, efficient over any terrain, the Wachtelhund has a great bloodhound-like nose and is intelligent, lively and easy to train. It is estimated that there are less than 150 Wachtelhunds in the United States.

There is additional reading on the Internet if you simply google "Wachtelhund".

One pup is headed to Texas, no reason why we can't throw two in the dog box! Big Grin

I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one.

To a particular or peculiar type of bird hunter, the bird dog is the center stage. I love my lab "Babe" and won't usurp or displace her position in the center of my universe, but truthfully, since these pups have been posted for sale I've dashed acquisition scenarios thru my head a dozen times.

It looks and sounds like a neat dog to run. A flushing dog has a little value up here, but the retrieving side as well as the smaller frame and mentioned disposition has merit.

Wow Man, I hope these pups go to homes that'll utilize their strengths.

Only males are left. The litter was 8 total with only 1 being a female, which she went quickly.

The dogs will be registered both UKC and AKC.

Thanks,

Graybird,
Are any of the puppies left? If I were to purchase one of these lil darlings, I wouldn't be able to pick it up until the end of March. My schedule just won't allow it.
No 2 still is talking to me.
Thanks
Rick

Rick,

At the moment, there are 4 pups still left. However, I have two individuals who have expressed interest in purchasing one.

The pups will be 6 weeks old on Sunday. They are still in the house with the bitter cold weather, but we have started the potty training sessions of going outside. It's fun watching them play in the snow.

I'm sure we could work something out regarding the timing of their new home.

Thanks,

Cody

Cody,
If you can hold the 2nd puppy in the pics until towards the end of March, I will take it. Those things are gorgeous.
My and My wife's schedule just will not permit us to take that responsibility on until then.

I or rather my son, Adam, is one of the new owners of one of these pups. I am posting this because I am going to meet with graybird and pick the pup up towards the end of Feb in Ok City. I have to be sub rosa because that is enemy territory for UT supporters. Wink

If anyone in La or Tex would like me to pick up a pup for them and bring him back to NE Texas I would be glad to do so. We are located roughly where Tx, Ok, and Ark join. It would not be a lot of trouble to meet someone in Dallas or Shreveport, La. Of course if my wife sees a pair of these pups, well.....I can't be responsible for puppy love.

This will be the last litter I have for any foreseeable future, as I had my female spade. She is getting up there in age and it was time because she had a bit of trouble with the other pups after the second puppy came out and we needed to do a c-section.

However, I know of a breeder back east that is going to have a litter within the next month, or so. Perhaps I could put you in touch with him and you could pick up a female out of his litter.

Thanks,

Graybird

We picked up my son's puppy in Oklahoma City yesterday. WE ARE REALLY IMPRESSED. The pup at only 8 weeks old is showing all kinds of good hunting and behavior traits.

I think this is going to be a helluva dog. Based on our very short exposure so far, I would REALLY recommend buying one of these pups if they fit in with your needs.

A couple pictures of the pups that are still available.

Max:

Hippo:

All three pups playing with my son. Hippo on the right, Max in the middle and Oscar on the top.

Oscar will be headed to a new home next week. That means I'm down to Max and Hippo left. Don't let this chance at a great dog slip away!
