No, Model7LSS, I'm an archaeologist. I got hung with the name by our company historian as an ebay handle when we were expanding our phone system. I'm just a PhD with too many dogs - an FC Labrador, a MH Labrador, a few SH Goldens, and my sister just stole my setter. I compete alot and am the president (apparently for life)of the Albuquerque Retriever Club.

I did get accepted to Colorado State U providing I completed a 4th semester of chemistry (they had an old fart plan to get us old guys back into school), but after consideration decided one doctoral program was enough.

So no, not a vet, but very active with my dogs - or was till I had my knee replaced two weeks ago. The other knee is next week and oh, how I look forward to it - not.

Well I cannot believe I have had Rusty since June.
And I cannot believe I went so long without a dog...

As I type this he has his head on my leg.
Whenever the wife and or I are making a short road trip we take him with us in the cab of the truck, not the bed.
He is a most excellent "riding in the vehicle dog". And he loves to do it.
He also loves to ride on the back of the ATV, or in the trailer pulled behind the ATV.

He is still like velcro, and will be in the same room with one of us at all times.

He and I have "hunted and shot" several turtles in the last few months. Gunfire does not only not bother him at all, when he sees me pick up a rifle, he gets excited and wants to go with me.

I have taken him to my Gun Club a few times, and he will stay right with me, just behind me, when I am shooting rifles or handguns.

He really is a Great Dog.

I cannot wait to take him to the deer lease, so he can help me hunt deer and pigs... Big Grin

The further adventures of Rusty the Wonder Dog.

He and I first spent 23 days at the deer lease, we came home for a week and then went back for 20 days or so.

he was most helpful in tracking the 2 deer, 4 wild pigs, 2 turkeys, and 3 coyotes I shot, as well as a squirrel.
He loves to hunt.

We sleep in a trailer, and I have a pad on the floor for him.

When it is warm, he sleeps on the linolum floor, when it gets a little cool he sleeps on the pad, when it gets below freezing he sleeps under the covers on the bed with me.

He loves to ride on the ATV or on a Kawasaki Mule.

If I hunt in an elevated blind he cannot get into he will sleep next to or on the ATV.

When it is cold I make sure I hunt in a blind he can get into.

He loves to ride in the truck, and wants to go with me when ever I leave the house. I never let him ride in the bed of the truck, always in the cab.

He loves raw deer meat, or cooked deer meat or cooked wild pig meat.

He was a great companion at the hunting lease.

I still do not know how In went so long without a dog...

Having no living family and all my friends (13 total all died from heart attacks before 40 except for one that was 27 not including Barbies GF's) all I have left are dogs.
They are loyal forever. They know 2 weeks before you become I'll.
They here the bumps in the night you don't.
They are protective of your females.
They love to play.
Many I have seen in bereavement of a spouse found a dog to soothe their lamentations.
When you guys found each other it was your lucky day. Good day to buy a lottery ticket.

Forgot this about getting into food products.
All dogs do this.
My late 25 lb. Lhasa Apso found my Real Tree cammies with a package of peanut butter crackers in the pocket. She chewed a hole through the pants pocket and ate the crackers wrapper and all. Also the other dogs dog collar we left on the floor when it was wet. I think it was an act of dominance. She never did pass the buckles and she was to old for surgery. We could feel the Fastex buckles in here tummy. She lived 18 years. She only like girls though. And me.

My dogs always seem to prefer to regurgitate on Barbie's pricey Persian rugs and not on the el cheapo Walmart door mats.

The Cat's Diary

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Buttheads!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. I could, however, hear the noises and smell the food.

I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicating with the Guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.

For now....

L.W.

Funny stuff !!!

Update on Rusty.

We got a young Calico cat [female of course] from the wifes parents. This cat was so friendly it would walk next to her dad and nearly tripped him a few times, he is 85, so we took the cat. We already had another male cat.

Well this cat thinks she is a Dog. She will walk with Rusty and I to check the mail, over 85 yards from the house, goes with us to check on the chickens, guiena's and turkeys, etc. She really likes Rusty and will run up to him and rub her face on his face.

Well good old Rusty just takes it all in stride, and I think now after a few months he kinda likes the cat. Cool

But no doubt the cat likes him better.

A couple of weeks ago I was packing the truck to go to the shooting range and both the cat, and Rusty had got inside the truck and wanted to go.
I left Cali the cat at home, but did take Rusty to the range. He likes Gunfire. tu2

Congratulations on Rusty!

Got home last night to a female Beagle on our porch. It a half a mile just to the road and we don't have many neighbors round here. She has had a collar; I can tell from the ring around her neck, not bad just shows in the hair sorta like when I take off my cap. Talked to the neighbors that hunt and none had a clue. Guess we'll see what happens. My 10 year old son has already taken up with her. I already have a LLewellin Setter and a Chawennie (part Chiwawa and long haired Datsun) sorry bout the spelling. Will see soon if she knows what to do with a wabbit.

God Bless, Louis

Just today, my Calie cat cought a Mole.
She brought it in the house and gave it to her friend, Rusty the Wonder Dog.

The wife noticed Rusty was tossing "something" up in the air, and would bite it and toss it up again. She thought it was a part of a rawhide bone she had given him last night, till she got a good look at it...
It was the Mole. Callie was standing by watching...

Louis, If you cannot find the original owners of the Beagle, I am sure you and your son will give it a good home...
