I can't help on the hunting as when I got my lab and bought all the retriever training books the videos were not so popular. Didn't matter -- he was allergic to feathers.

Leerburg has a lot of training DVDs. I cannot swear by their methods but I have read some of his articles and they seem decent. I have his basic training video on VHS but have been too lazy to watch it .

I actually had him tested -- he tested positive for feathers and bunch of other things. I think he scored a ++ on feathers, but that was a long time ago and I could be foggy. Between his allergies and mine we were allergic to just about everything. At least he was good looking.
