new neighbor has two dogs, to me they look like a type of boxer. maybe the german breed.
the older female is very agressive towards me and my son. the other is a younger male and tends to stay at a resonable distance and just yaps.
the female has postured as though she wants to attack.
the female was in my garbage this morning and i went out to run them off and she would no move off more than a couple steps. after the neighbor yelled several times did she take off toward her home. neighbor keeps saying she wont bit you.
afte this morning I am pretty leary of this dog. What do you think I should do. I do not think they have any control over this dog especially if it still postures after it has been yelled for several times.
Iam about ready to shoot it.
Dave

If you cannot resolve this with your neighbor, and assuming you live where there is a leash law, you can report it to animal control. It may not matter if there is a leash law if they are on your property. Hopefully anuimal control will caution the owner.

Why shoot the dog? Is it the dogs fault? No! I agree with Charles. If the dog is on your property then exhaust all other means first. You have it right, the dog is posturing. That's what they do.

Naw I wouldnt shoot it, only as a last resort.
When I had dogs they were always on a run or in pins, they were huntin dogs not shiteaters.
I have been bitten a few times and it hurts and it was from own dum ass.
This is the first time I have ever had a dog come into my turff and think its boss.
I really dont want to cause the neighbor any grief. but this will end today. Im not sure what time they get home from work , im waitin on them

well it came to an end I hope. when I went to the neighbors they could not understand what my problem was. I explained to them pretty much what I had posted about the garbage and such. well about 30 mnutes later they were on my front porch again, I ran them back home. about 15minutes later the sheriff was at there door another neighbor a couple housed from me had one of the dogs attack his beagle that was tied to a box. I suppose we will see what happen now. I havent seen the dog out this morning. time will tell.

Thanks for the post. Looks like you have some trash other than in the garbage cans!
Peter.

Years ago I had a dog hanging around a pen with some she dogs in heat. I would show up and he would leave. My daughter was in first grade, she came in from the pen area and said the dog came for her. I followed her out and verified he came for her, when the dog saw me he ran. I went out the next day when she was in school and killed it.

I would not tolerate a vicious dog around my kids.
