My labrador, Raven, had 12 puppies on April 23rd.

All survived and are healthy, due in no small part to my wife making certain they were well taken care of. Raven was a really good "mom".

We kept Max, a chocolate male. He is already 18.4 pounds and loves the water.

The birth and raising the puppies has been a great experience.

We made a couple of teal hunts this season. Raven did fine and we were able to work Max and Speck, two of her offspring.

We were looking for a cripple after the hunt with all three dogs. Speck actually found the bird. Raven and Max decided to help carry it back to the boat. Max and Speck were five months old yesterday.

We hunted Wednesday and Thursday. It was actually not too bad on Thursday.

Too hot now and for the rest of teal season.

Duck hunting has been poor this season but Max continues to develop.
