My last lab lived to be 13-1/2 he became very sick I had to have him put down, broke my heartI said to my wife no more dogs for us well we had a time when we gave in here is my new lab at 5 years And here he is 112 weeks old, He is my best friend I often think at 74 years old why did I get another dog I just hope when I go if he's still alive That someone will love him and I hope he doesn't grieve too much He never leaves my side. At 74 years old? Why not? You both have a lot of great years together. I suspect you'll be asking the same question ten years from now and I hope you get another one. One of the cruel truths is that God didn't make our dogs to live as long as we do. Congrats on a great looking dog; I love Chocolates.

Not quite your age and have had dogs all my life, one sort or the other, and they are great companions and friends through thick and thin. Always said that someone who does not like dogs, there is something wrong with them. Indeed a beautiful dog and as I am sure you have noticed, they can communicate very clearly with their eyes. Might even say they talk with their eyes.
