My 10year old Chow-Sammy mix exhibits tenderness in her hips. The vet mentioned some time ago various surgical interventions. What are your experiences with various surgeries? I am particularly interested in one in which the muscles which retain the hip in the socket are severed or weakened to permit the legs to "float" rather than painfully turn in the socket. Kudude

My only experience is with the total hip replacements. The first one went very well but the second not quite as well. Still, it was better than if the surgery had not been done.

Sorry I cannot help with the specific procedure you mentioned.
