Why do people find it necessary to leave their dogs in the country when they get old or sick. Last Friday I found an old bassset hound obviously abandoned by its owner. It was in terrible shape. My wife bathed it we tried to feed it but it ate very little. Monday my wife brought it to the vet. I was dissapointed that it was too far gone and the vet put it to sleep. The poor dog suffered for who knows how long before I found him and on top of that I ended up with a $107.00 vet bill because somebody would not do the right thing.

Some people are just plain ole a$$ holes and don't deserve or have the right to have a canine as a companion.

There are those that are not capable of respect in any form, let alone the respect the most loyal and loving of companions deserves. I would venture a guess that they have very little respect for them selves as well. Well done Mike, perhaps someday that you and that Basset will meet again. Mike, You did the good and right thing ... giving the puppy a little solace in its last hours! Some folks can be real bast***s. You, on the other hand, help restore some faith in humanity.
