Had to put down my Brittany, Watson, this morning. Thought he just needed an antihistamine or something. X-ray showed an enlarged heart and mass pressing on his airways. He was a great pal. I got him after my divorce and he saved my life.

Those of us who love dogs, understand that the real price we pay for their love & friendship is their passing... Been there, done that... Sorry for your loss.

Bill, terrible to lose one, I feel for you. How old was he?

He looks so much like my setter laying there on the leather couch.

My thoughts are with you.

I know exactly what it feels like to have to put your friend/part of the family down. Wish there was something I could say to help.

Thanks fellas. Watson was 11 1/2. My first Brittany, Molly, made it to 15.

Sorry there Bill. As I get older, I find that in quiet times, a number of memories creep in, among them old friends, Snort, Maggs, Bugsy, Brock, Troubles, Blitz, [English Jack Russells,] Redd, Hankey, Belle, Amstel, [Foxhounds.] All working dogs.

Bill,
Sorry for your loss I had to put down my old Brittany this past summer. I have a new puppy now he just turned 6 months old Monday. He can't replace my others but he sure can make me smile. If I can say I believe you need to be owned by another. Good luck.

Hi Bill, sorry for your loss and know what you are feeling. I have wonderful memories of dogs stretching back 50 years. Friend once told me that chances are you will outlive your dog. Strange comfort but true.

Sorry for your loss. I had to put my shorthair down not to long ago. Got a pup coming next week to liven up the place. You did the humane thing for your pal and didn't let him suffer.

I have a friend in Pendleton that has 5 week's old Brittany's pups, very very birdy. He is Wayne York of Oregun smithing, a former Oregon State Police trooper who retired and went into gunsmithing full time.
