I lost my best friend yesterday. He was approximately 16 years old human. He died in his sleep and he was strong and brave all the way. He will be missed.

The loss of my old boy of 14 years was/is perhaps the deepest felt loss that I have ever experienced.

The one realization that has been important to me and may provide some comfort or at least perspective to you as well is that to have not shared all those years with a great dog would have been much worse.

I went through to same thing last year with my first dog...I can feel for your loss. Try to remember the good days. I know, that helped me.

X-51,

I'm so sorry for your loss. The bond between man and dog is undescribable. Keeping him going for 16 years is amazing.

Very sorry for you.
