I had to put my best friend doberman down a while ago. Doc said he had lung cancer. He was coughing up lots of blood. Well i'm a university student now and i'm looking for a hound that can travel with me easily, is easy to train, obediant and bout the size of a small boxer or spaniel.. oh ya must have short hair.

Any suggestions ?

My condolences on the loss of your doberman. My family recently became the proud slaves of a female pudelpointer (Gretchen). She is a versatile hunting dog and an absolute blast. She happens to be a smooth (atypical...most are wiry hair with beards). I wouldn't trade her for the world...a hell of a dog and great in the field. For more information about pudelpointers go to PCNA.ORG Not exactly sure where you would find them in Durban,...but our Pudlepointer club of North America might be able to help.

My sympathy on your tragic loss. To lose a pet is to lose a close relative. How about the little captain or a Schipperke ?

It is a difficult thing to work through.

We lost Nandi to cancer a couple of weeks back. We were on holiday at the time and could not say goodbye. Gina (daughter) had to deal with it.

We had good times.
