Any one have a favorite load for hunting that groups exceptionally well? I have tried ballistic tips and berger. Now working on 195 gr. bergers but losing patience. Best, Tom

Timan87gr of LRT, 175gr ELD-X, Rem. 9-1/2M primer, 3.570 C.O.A.L.
KP 1-8 twist barrel
1st group .525
2nd group .416
Less than 15 rounds fired at this point.
This is from my 8th custom build in 28 Nosler.
IMO, 1-8 twist is best for the 28 Nosler especially for bullets over 160 grain.

AnotherAZWriter76.5 RL 33 and a 195 Berger. Both of mine shoot exactly the same load but both have Blake barrels.

For consistent patterns in bird hunting, try Federal Premium Upland Steel #5 or Hevi-Shot Classic Doubles #6 - both deliver tight, even spreads without excessive recoil. Avoid ballistic tips for birds; they’re better for varmints.

Really, when I bird hunt with my 28 Nosler, I usually only find the wings or the feet.
