Someone left the door open Y'all just don't get it. rc was the motivating force behind this forum. That's his pic at the top, someone should take it down. There is no energy or information here anymore. No new topics. I learned a lot from rc even don't always agree with him. At least found him interesting, unlike the 2 whining cry babies who got him banned. jwp, I respect your ability to shoot long distance but you impart no knowledge because of your lack of personality, sense of humor and ethics. If you don't see that you have done serious harm to this forum through your actions, then I will have to add a lack of intelligence also. Calling 'em like I see 'em, now go whine to your butt-buddy and get me banned also. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

I had thought about waiting another day or two to see what developed, but since Woods has broached the subject: I once heard something that has stuck with me near forty years. It went something to the effect that “one should not tamper with untempered mortar”. One way of looking at that statement might be that one should mind his own business. Another way might be as follows: Some ancient Craftsmen were operative stonemasons who worked to create great cathedrals and other buildings. The cement, which they used, was critical in the constructions of those edifices. When properly mixed, this cement would unite the stones, and would insure a stable, beautiful, and lasting edifice, but if mixed improperly, would doom a structure to cracks, decay, and ruin. Thus, "untempered mortar," or improperly mixed mortar, was never to be tampered with or used. This mixing and preparation required knowledge, care, and understanding, which the new apprentice had to acquire before progressing to be a master of his craft.. You could extrapolate that each person that posts here, should constantly prepare himself carefully, weighing his thoughts, actions, and deeds. Each choice made in life is a part of a mixture, adding strength or weakness, as the case may be, to the character and reputation one has, and in his relationship to a group. So at the risk of “tampering with untempered mortar” let me say that I agree with Woods in that RC was, in my opinion, one of the driving forces behind the Long Range Forum. At the outset, DRG had a contest to choose the picture for the masthead. RC’s picture was chosen. For my part I will not get involved in a discussion of who said what, and who did what. I try to take what I can from folks posts, enjoy their point of view when possible, yet strive to refrain from being negative or offensive to another forum member. All in all though, I do think RC got a raw deal being banned totally from the forum. I do not know how many that post in the Long Range Forum remember what the Small Game forum was like before, when some of the old timers like Digital Dan and Pole Tax were in their heyday. It was one of the most vibrant and funny forums on the whole board, in my opinion. A few folks took offense at their antics. Strict new rules were laid down, folks were banned or left of their own choosing. The Small Game Forum has never recovered. Although I classify myself as a “Short Range Meat Hunter”, in its brief history, the Long Range forum has been one more opportunity to observe, enjoy other’s knowledge and experiences, and perhaps learn something. I’ll miss that. Best GWB

Excellent post Geedubya. I see it happen on other sites as well as this one. Forums are supposed to be places where people can have some fun, exchange ideas and information, with like minded or experienced individuals, that most of us do not come in to contact with on a dialy basis. For whatever reason, some folks just can not operate under those guidelines, they hav to take things too serious or want to much order or decorum. I had my problems with RC in the past, and actually after the Long Range topic area got started, he seemed to have became less abrasive in my opinion. Banning someone over lack of popularity among a few or a group of overly sensitive members that take forums too seriously, only ends up hurting the site as the non-chosen group causes everyone else too lose interest. Even the rocks don't last forever.

That he was banned for "adding nothing to the knowledge base" is complete BS. Just look at the informative threads on the LR forum about reticles, case prep and accessories for shooting LR! rc made this forum a great read. I learned a lot from him and will miss his expertise. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." First off I have not complained to anyone to get him banned, he did that to himself all by himself. He imparted what knowledge? OGW formula, a meaningless number on paper is his biggest contribution other than these type threads and posts http://forums.accuratereloadin...043/m/5501029241/p/1 http://forums.accuratereloadin...851033341#9851033341 Please enlighten us as to your contribution to the forum? _____________________________________________________ A 9mm may expand to a larger diameter, but a 45 ain't going to shrink Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. - Winston Churchill

MS where did you come from. You act like a tin pot DICKtator with your stupid one-liners and your depressingly idiotic signature line. Seems simple is hard on you because you can't get that far. Are you the moderator who banned rc? I have never seen any of your posts before this one and it's easy to see you have no people skills at all and should not be a moderator.

Before I leave (again) I never said I was a contributor to the Long Range Forum and stayed off it except when rc asked me to come add to the topic of case prep for long range. Case prep is what floats my boat and you can find many posts and threads in the Reloading forum where I have contributed a lot. The only reason I am here on this fiasco is because of the obvious mismanagement and arbitrary malfeasance of someone here when they banned rc. Every since I was in the Army I hate misuse and abuses of power. As to your threads you linked, it seems rc was only giving as good as he got.
