Varmit class bench rest is usually five, five shot groups.

I'd have to drive down after the first group to make sure there was some color!

Read the article and tally up what shooting 3 ladders is (besides a lot of shots).......looks to me like he's in essence shooting 3 shot groups and that was just to begin with. He's just shooting groups ala ladder style.....how many rounds did he shoot total to find his "ladder" load? I lost count...... Nothing quick, down and dirty there....just the same old method shot in a different sequence.

It can depend upon the type of paper used on the target. I buy newsprint rolls from my local newspaper printer. It works but does not catch the ink as well. I did use Jason Baney's method of alcohol dipped q-tip's to enhance the color in on the paper. You might consider testing at short range to determine which paper catches the ink better and the specific color "you" can see better than others.

When shooting with colored bullets I don't shoot similar colors next to each other, just incase. Such as orange and pink, dark colors like black, purple, dark blue, etc.

Even a group with a bare bullet in conjunction with a group with any color works great.
