So does the new Nikon D80 wipe out the market for the D200? For most of us, doesn't the D80 give the same quality of picture as the D200?

Having just bought a D200 I was particularly interested in the D80. I really, really like the D200. I think the real impact will be that the D200 will take sales from the D2 and D2X cameras and the D80 will clean up the market for the D50, D70, and D100.

The D200 is much more a professional camera than is the D80 ... it is just more sturdily built. That will be of interest to those who more heavily use machines. Will be interesting to see what goodies they add to the firmware of the D200 late in the year.

For the "mass" enthusiast market, the D80 seems to be a killer!
