I need to buy a new printer and want one of those multi-purpose scanner, printer, copier machines that supposedly does it all. I'm looking at the Canon Pixma MP990. Any good or bad or experience with this product?

That's one of the best all in one.

I gave up on photo printers, now I have a little HP D1660 where the ink cartridge is the print head and a Cannon 4400f flatbed scanner.
I got bored with buying a new printer every time the head got clogged, cause it wasn't used for a while. I like the little printer it's not much worse print quality for pics than much more expensive printers. But it never prints quite straight, shows it's cheap construction. I do hate the HP software that it needs to work. I think Cannon stuff is much easier to set up and use.

I have had an Epson 7800 for three or four years now. Scans flat stuff good, but slides and negatives not so much. Prints photos very well. At least to my satisfaction.

I print with Epson Stylus C66 Photo Edition and I use an EPSON V200 Photo scanner that works great for slides and negatives.

I have an MP830. I like that it scans (duplex), copies and prints but it does use quite a bit of expensive ink.

I scan all of my bills, receipts etc, save them on the computer and shred the paper copies. It does have fax but I've never used it. I scan and email instead of faxing.

I don't print many pictures with it so I can't tell you good or bad. If I just want snapshot pics I upload to walgreens. For "real" prints I upload to mpix and they have excellent prints and good prices. The pictures I have printed didn't have very good colors but I haven't really tried to get it right.
