The Nikon mirrorless cameras release gets a ton of media coverage. If my existing primary Nikon camera had an APS-C size sensor, like the D7XXX series or a D90 for instance, I wouldn't rush into the fray unless I had already made the decision to go full-frame sensor (FX) with the corresponding costs and bulk of larger cameras and larger lenses. The size and weight gains of the mirrorless aren't what many might dream they are. For many people, the MUCH longer battery use, the optical viewfinder, the incorporated flash, the ability to use existing lenses, the readily available SD memory card and the MUCH lower price (not even counting the existence of this camera on the used market), means the D7500 is probably a better "upgrade" from say a D90 or D7000 than the mirrorless option. I recently bought a used D7500 for my daughter. It is an excellent camera, even for professional use, in my humble opinion. If you already have DX lenses, there isn't much downside to prefering a D7500 over a total switch to a new system, and there is a considerable upside in terms of cost. See this: https://www.apotelyt.com/compa...on-z6-vs-nikon-d7500 The Z cameras won't be on the shelves for a few months and interesting lenses won't be around for many months, even years. You can get a D7500 now for a whole lot less. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I got a D7500 not long ago with the kit lenses. It’s a great little camera that I need to spend a bit more time fiddling with. I still have a hankering for the Fuji x100 though, although my Nikon AF 35 is about the same thing, just needs to be fed film! The 7500 is my first decent camera since owning a Canon D30(?). Amazing what they can do. Even shot some HD video of the kids’ volleyball and horse riding. Pretty damn cool.
