I was thinking I wanted to get a reasonably priced video camera to carry with me to Colorado in a couple of weeks. Several were touted on some sites I visited and yet when I found reviews of hem on youtube, I did not see one clear video demonstrated among them. Suggested were: Canon HF10 Sony CX100 Canon HF200 HDR SR11 Sanyo FH1 JVC Enverio ? ? ? ? OTHERS ? ? ? ? Did not even look at prices, so not sure. I assume there is a pretty decent camera (at least comparable with my Canon XTi still). What about capture HD, MINI DVD, flash? Soliciting your suggestions for these or other camera. Youtube cannot do justice to any decently shot video, so don't use it it as an example. If price is not an issue, then I really suggest you go for full HD, using the AVCHD format. The qauality is better than anything else out there unless you are talking about a full blown professional model that can cost several thousands dollars. My personal choice right now is the Canon HFS10. It is small enough to carry in a jacket pocket, has a 32GB internal storage, and an SD card slot that can accept a 32GB card. At full HD and 24MBS bit rate, you can record almost 3 hours on the internal memory, and similar time to the SD card if using 32GB. You will need a relatively high power computer to work on these files, and my suggestion is to use Pinnacle Studio 12 for editing. It is the easiest to work with. And you can convert your footage to DVS for general viewing, or to Windows Media HD Format for viewing on a computer or HD TVs. | |||
