Pleasant image. If you want to get some light into the shadows a cheap trick is to take some cardboard and glue crumpled up aluminum foil to it and use it as a reflector in the field. I encourage you to have fun with your camera. I have had a lifetime of enjoyment with photography both as a professional and making images just for myself.

SRW, nice shot,as OEH suggested with his idea for light fill this idea works really good. Made me go out and buy a collapsable reflector so I have it with me when needed.
