Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Why would you think I wasnt doing it for a living? I am not in the habit on coming online and making up stories about my occupation. It has been my only job since 1992. And most people do not know this but it is cheaper to live in Anchorage Alaska than most places in the lower 48.

Ignore Final shot, 1 post in his accuratereloading career. Hopefully he stays that way.

Snowwolfe,

some nice shots there - but I don't envy you the weather! - I notice you haven't disabled the right click facility on your website.... do you think you ever have images stolen? - We had to disable the facility on our website as we kept finding dodgy agents etc were stealing our images and advertising the pics as their own etc........ and we're still chasing a few of these bastards to remove them from their sites...... killpc

If they want to steal them they will no matter what.. They are not a high enough resolution to be of any good to anyone. Besides they are all copyrighted.

Hey sorry for the pompus post. It sounded more like I was trying to be a jerk, but really I'm just amazed that a guy can make an exclusive living off those photographs. They are not bad, it's just such a competitive business, you know.

I also see that youre retired, so I'm sure that helps foot the bill. but as other's have said, if youre making a full living off your work, more power to you! Good work, it's a tough business for sure!

Finalshot,

The work he does is MUCH more difficult and time consuming that what most stock photographers do and they
can sell their images generally for more. Most stock photography is for very boring images used in advertising
and is of general purpose things like shots of clouds, kids playing, etc.

You would be amazed at how many frames you shoot before you have one that is suitable for sale. And with wildlife
the percentage of good shots is much lower. There is so much that can go wrong. One of the most basic things
is that the eyes MUST be in focus or generally the shot will not sell. Tell Mr. Bobcat to hold the pose while
you manipulate the manual focus or more irritating the auto focus on your 400mm lens.

The other factor is the cost of the equipment. I used Hassleblad equipment and the lenses ranged from $2000 to
$5000 each. Drag a 500mm Hassy lens out in the boonies without any anxiety over whether it gets damaged. I quickly gave up on wildlife photography and went back to commercial and wedding photography.

Disabling right click will not keep your images safe. When you view a photo from a web page, you're not viewing that file from the web page, you're viewing it from your own computer.

The image that's trying to be protected by disabling right-click has already been downloaded to the viewer's computer. If it hadn't been dowloaded to their computer, they couldn't see it.

Have a look inside your temporary internet files and you'll find all of the photos you've viewed online stored there.

Just FYI.
