While many photographers don't bother with tripods, they should. But it slows you down (sometimes a good thing) and attaching the camera to the tripod can be tedious. There are of course L-brackets which can speed up the process and secure the camera to the ball-head on the tripod securely if you use the Arca Swiss plates and equally equipped ball heads. But that just adds another inconvenience, until now, of foregoing carry slings which attach to the camera body at the tripod screw socket. Really Right Stuff now makes L-brackets with the same quick release mechanism as used in rifle carry slings made by Magpul. I've got this for my Nikon D850 and it is very convenient and very secure.
