I'm just learning about digital photography and when i see a good picture posted somewhere I usually want to know the details of the camera and setting, and these are not always included.. It seems that in most cases the information is embedded in the picture in the shape of an Exif file and this can be read with the approriate software which can be downloaded from the link below: http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/download.htm When you run this it will install two utilities and when complete all you need to do is right click on the picture in question and the embedded information will be displayed. The exception to this is when its been saved/resized using the "save for web" function which apparenty deletes this particular file... I've no idea about the other functions of this software, but it seems that you can embed GPS co-ordiantes into photos so you will always have the location they were taken...I've not tried this, but it might be an interesting feature...
