I recently had my point and shoot camera stolen in Jo'burg airport so I'm looking for a replacement for when I'm back in August.

I vaguely remember that Saeed used a camera in this range last year to produce some excellent pics IIRC.

Anyone used this one?

Kiri,

I would not recommend this camera, based on all the reports that I have read.

The previous model, the TZ 7 and TZ 10 were much better quality wise..

I think Panasonic has made a major mistake by going mega pixel crazy, and add to that the touch screen controls.

Small point and shoot that seem to get very good reviews are the Canon HS230 and the Sony HX9.

Thanks mate,

I will take a look. Is the TZ10 still available out there? or would you still look at the Cannon as a preference?

I tend to avoid Sony stuff if I can help it.

You should be able to pick a TZ7 or TZ10 in the stores.

I am not very knowledgeable about digital cameras but purchased the TZ20 / ZS10 a couple of months ago. So far, I have been most pleased with the pictures and the handling of the camera. I would recommend giving it a hard look.
