I am your average picture taker, not to savy on the techie stuff. What would you recommend in an 35 SLR and a digital? Used for sports pics, outdoors, indoors, for fun. Thanks. There are so many cameras out there that I get confused. I have an old Canon T70 that is about shot.

Don't you just hate that about consumer electronics? It makes me just want to wait and wait and wait until it gets cheap but by then, it's old tech and something new is available (at a higher price).

I'd go with the minolta Dimage XT

Its a VERY solid little camera that takes great pictures,
Even does video, I bought it for one main reason tho' it's got a waterproof case available good to 100m (thats about 98 more "m" than I'm good to! anyway if youd like some pic's and vid I can send them to you but they'll be big.

I would go with digital in any case, you can see your work right now and if it's not good you get a do-over. and even then you can "fix" it in any graphics program. The minolta I've got does wonders.

From what I've been reading and hearing the Nikon Coolpix Digital is top of the line. You might want to check into it.
I myself use Nikon F100(film) and a D100(digital)

Nikon is a excellent brand and very dependable.

Panasonic FZ3 .

12x Leica zoom lens . Image stabilized , fast shutter response , and fairly compact. And also reasonably priced for what you get.......

GO to CNET .COM tis site compares all digital cameras. you only need 3 maga pixels up to a 8x10 picture. For the money and a good camera
cannon makes A75 or A95 model, one is 3 pix and
the other is 5 pixs.
