Let's say your wife has a whole lot of money and she asks you what you want for Father's Day. The answer is: a Leica Q camera. Check this out:

So, it's small for a full-size sensor camera, super build-quality, super image quality, fixed lens, making it the kind of camera a professional would use for a walk-around camera. Anybody got north of $4,000 burning a whole in their pocket?

Of course, if the price isn't enough to talk you out of it, there are always other excuses:

I imagine that if the Leica was the best camera, nobody would buy other cameras.

The Q is probably the worst camera I can think of for sports photograph or wildlife photography and at the price of the Leica Q (or any other Leica for that matter) I doubt if they sell very many. And people with enough money to buy a Leica probably have several cameras from different makers.

Leica does make cameras that are very pleasant to the eye, and the glass is second to none. But sensor technology is changing so fast, that the top of the line camera today becomes old by the next year.

Happened to be in camera store today that had a Leica Q. Go handle one. For digital street photography I can't think of a better camera. Next year is next year, I'm talking about today.

I love the Leica cameras.

But, sadly, they are not the cameras I choose.

My main interest is wildlife and hunting.

And for that I need ZOOM!

Without zoom, I won't buy a camera.
