I'm considering this camera for a trip to Africa, but have little knowledge about photography. I'm looking for general advice/counsel on a good smaller size camera that still takes really good pictures - I don't want to carry a full size SLR while hunting. This Lumix seemed like a good one:

Got one yesterday, but have not used it yet.

I am going to the Maldives in a couple of weeks, and will take it with me.

I have had lots of experience with the Z series Panasonic cameras for years. They are the best in their class.

Most of our safari photos for the past few years have been taken by these cameras.

Thank you Saeed. It surely looks good from the specifications.

Great camera!

Most of the photos in my hunt report are from this camera.

Does it truly fit in a shirt pocket?

Perfect, and thanks for the confirmation, Saeed. That fit makes a camera so much easier to tote around and to access when you are hiking, hunting, or whatever.

I missed a $50 off sale just before Christmas, but knowing this I'm going to get one of these before my next outing.
