I have unearthed my FIL's Ricoh SLR and associated lenses - Tokinas - and wondered if it was possible to economically adapt them to use on a Canon 350D / Rebel XT DSLR.

I dont profess to be very camera savvy , but this would make a lot of sense to me if it can be done ....

Any thoughts please

Are those screw mount lenses on the Ricoh? I've heard of adaptors but have no experience with the M42 to EOS adaptors.

There is a guy in France who sells a wide range of lens adaptors, he may even make them for all I know. Here's a link:

Nah - they are bayonet type mounts so think I may be thwarted on this one . Shame - nice lenses.

According to this article, if the Ricoh was a model with a "P" in its name, then there are adaptors for other bodies for those bayonet mount lenses.

Its a model XR7 Body , if that means anything. Definately bayonet fitting.

Not a big issue, I shall save my pocketmoney for a nice canon lens to suit the XT Rebel body.

Thanks.

The Canon 18-135mm would seem to be the best all-around use lens they make for a reasonable price.
