Haven't you ever wondered, when looking at a photo posted here on AR, what camera and settings were used, maybe even the location of where the photo was taken? There is a way to do this with an "exif viewer". Here's a link to one: http://regex.info/exif.cgi I added it to my Google bar. To use it is very simple. When I'm looking at a photograph on the internet, I right click the photo and click copy/paste the address, open the exif viewer and paste to the box indicated on the exif viewer and then click go to URL. You will get much of the photo info, including location if it was imbedded via GPS when the photo was taken. It's easy to use. Try it on the photo below: _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I use a Firefox add-on that does the same thing. Just right click on the photo, if the info is there you can read it. http://araskin.webs.com/exif/exif.html That's a very good picture. I wish I could conjure up good b&w images like that one with my lowly Nikon.

The MAc will also do this. Just right click on the file on your desktop and choose 'More Info' and it will show you the exif stuff. Not sure if it'll show lat/long as I've never seen it in any pic I have looked at but i would imagine it would. You can impress your friends that way...watch.. Hey Wink, nice buff pic...looks like your D700 is doing good these days...if I had to guess exposure I'd say about 1/80@f11 but the trees are pretty far back to see just how far the DOF goes...nice! See, easy peasy...
