Is there some simple software out there that will allow one to make minimal changes such as resolution and cropping? I spent much of my life in photography but never paid attention to the technical side of video. Have a 4 minute vid that someone shot of one of our kiddos that I'd like to make some simple changes/improvements to, including reducing the file size.

Download the trial version of Camtasia. It may do what you want. I have used it a bunch for making step-by-step videos and I think I remember if being able to do what you need.

Also, Quicktime Pro may do it as well but it costs. The Camtasia will be free for 30 days.
