I like to use ultra-wide angle lenses for landscapes, because you can include so much in the photograph. They do however introduce a tremendous amount of distortion in images, even when perfectly level. I correct or attenuate this with DxO software. Here's the picture with no distortion correction. ![]() Here is the same photo, but somewhat corrected to make it look more like what I actually saw. ![]() Photograph taken with a 10-24mm lens on a Nikon D7000. The point is, even though ultra-wides do distort, you can usually fix it in post-production, at least to a certain extent. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

Would a tilt and shift lens do the same thing? I know sw is cheaper.

No T&S will correct all distortion. It's like using a view camera. ![]() Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.
