add on flash for nikon d40x

looking for a add on flash for my Nikon,

the built in one can be a bit 'in your face'
looking for a tilting head type to try bouncing the flash?

any ideas?

I would go to KEH.com and try to find a used SB28dx, SB80dx, SB800dx, etc. I new Nikon flash will run you as much as your camera. You'll need to use a Nikon flash for it wo work in the auto modes. Just about any flash will work on manual but you won't get the benefits. Lou

The SB400 is really all you need and I bought mine for $110 just the other day.

I second the SB400. You want a Nikon flash with iTTL for that camera
