OK the wife's xmas list has a light meter on it. I am looking for something probably better than an entry level meter. Does anyone have any opinions? All info will be much appreciated.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!

Maybe 6 or 7 years ago I bought a Gossen Luna Pro Digital Flash meter to use with medium and large format cameras. It has been simply wonderful! They are not cheap but they sure do work ... and you can measure the actual exposure you want with the flash system you're using.
