I'm want to Down Size from my SLR Oly Wide Zoom Camera to something that has as much picture quailty, ease of handling and is small in size.. From what I can garner it boils down to the Sensor..
Two Camera's that have been suggested so far to me are
1. OlY EPL1 on the bigger side
2. Casio ZR-10 on the smaller side..
Any help from the Astute and Studied will be appreciated..
Thanks,
AK

I would certainly look at the Canon Powershot D10, especially for what you are wanting to use it for.

As ever it's the lens that really counts.

Saeed likes the Panasonic TZ10 but it has no view finder.
That sort of thing may not be enough camera if your used to an SLR.

The Cannon G9 / 10 / 11 /12 are great, but they all have issues with dust getting in, so may be ruled out for use in the bush.

The Nikon P7000 is quite big for a pocket camera and not cheap, but it will stand up against anything that takes photos.

I wouldn't bother with the Micro four thirds Like the Olympus Pen. Or the Lumix G you may as well have a DSLR.

Some of the Bridge Cameras are great like the Lumix FZ or Sony but they aren't all that much smaller than an SLR with a small lens.

At the moment I'd get the Nikon P7000. Unless I could get a Leica M9 ordered up without the girlfriend noticing the price tag.

Had my G for 5 years and NEVER ONCE TOUCHED the lens or cleaned it. No dust issues ever. Course I don't work in a rock quarry either.
