Need help repairing Canon A-1

I have a Canon A-1 that needs some repairs done to it.

Unfortunately, I dropped it out of my truck a few years back when I opened the passenger door & it had slipped off the seat, propping itself against the door, just waiting to fall...

The back is slightly "sprung" vertically. I can close it, but must use a bit of downward "nudge" on the back to get it to latch closed. I'd really like to get it repaired properly.

It's been sitting for a few years, and I'm now wanting to use it as a back-up camera. It served me well before I dropped it, and I like using it.

Does anybody have any suggestions on where to send it? Nobody local seems interested in working on it.

Thanks!

Thanks Bobby! I figured you'd respond if you saw the post. I'll give them a call & if they think they can fix it, I'll send it to them...

Widowmaker-

Thanks for the tip! If the above shop can't do it, I'll try B&H...

Unless things have changed, B&H actually does not do any in-house repair. It's all contracted out. As someone who relies on his gear to make a living, I prefer to deal with the repair specialists directly. That's why I use Havel Camera Service. They are an authorized warranty/repair center for virtually every major brand, and both camera retailers and professional photographers from all over use them when they run into problems.

To boot, they are quick in turn-around time...

Bobby-

I called Havel's today, they sounded real nice on the phone. He said he thought they could fix it, and give the camera a "tune-up", so I just got back from shipping it to them. Thanks again for the info!
