I bought two chairs that the fabric has wore out on to re cover with Axis hide. Should the hides be tanned all the way to where they are soft------------ like throws on furniture or should they be left somewhat stiffer? I intend to leave the existing fabric under the skins an reuse the large brass headed tacks.
The male hides have a richer brown thanthe females with the backbone panel being the best looking.
