Hope someone can help me with some advice. I want to put a set of quick-detach sling swivels on my Marlin 336. The rear band has a stud with integral swivel. The swivel/stud turns in the band but does not seem to be threaded in. Is the stud supposed to be removable so I can put a QD stud in the band? Or, do I have to replace the band with one that has a QD stud in it? Does such a thing exist? Any help appreciated. Thanks, MMM.

Well, MMM, I see no one has responded to your post so I will give it a shot. I have a Marlin 336 which I put a sling on. I took the rear barrel band and drilled and tapped it to receive a screwed in stud. If your stud is twisting in the band it may have stripped the threads in the band. I would suggest removing the band and taking a look at how it is attached and go from there.
