I'm setting up an 1887 Norinco as a slug gun firing the 730 gr Dixie slug @ ~ 1250 fps. It will be equipped with a screw-in rifled choke tube and iron sights. Everything has been going OK except that it won't eject for sour owl poop. If I'm not getting hit in the face, it'll stovepipe, with the empty crushed btween the breech face and the breechblock, This during an attempt at a fast string. The CAS guys have been using this piece to good effect; I've seen a number of videos showing them firing this gun very fast, indeed. While watching carefully, I see no evidence of lousy ejection. Coyote Cap sets up 1887's for the CAP shooters and may know more about this action than anyone, but I was told that they are so busy that they are not answering their phone or e-mails, and so I thought I'd ask about this here on the chance that someone may know something about this. Got any tips? This action is, shall we say, "different". Thanks RG "We Band Of 45-70'ers" | ||
