I have read about this in a few places, but only in reference to the 1894. Is this also inherent in the Marlin 1895?

I rememeber having one jam....I think I short stroked it.

The 1895 will do it as well mine did it twice and I think I may have short stroked but it locked up solid and had to be disassembled to correct I got rid of it quickly.w/regards

From my own eperience with my 20 Marlin rifles all in big-bore's. I've experienced ONE problem m-jam with: a stainless 1894.

Turn the lever facing up. Infront of the lever which protects the trigger, there is a screw, if this screw is loose count on a m-jam.

Any Marlin rifle with this 'screw loose' can have problems...

For you nay-say'rs about lever action accuracy: my Marlin lever 375 will shoot groups as tight as my $1,100(includes an Elite 4200 scope) 308/700/stainless bull barreled rifle. Out to 120 yards!
