kynadogNew Marlin 44-40 questions
I just picked up a Marlin 1894 Cowboy Limited in 44-40. Can anyone tell me when they stopped making this gun? It is not in the current catalog. Also, can you guys suggest some good handloads for it? Data seems scarce.

Deputy AlI have an original M-1873 Winchester carbine, and it does decent work with variants of the Lyman #427098 and 14.0 grains of Alliant 2400. This is a black powder intensity load, and the Marlin is capable of far higher velocities safely.
I don't know how case life would be affected by higher pressures. My cases still need trimming every third firing, so the metal goes someplace each time. I discard cases when they require their fourth trimming.
