I did some testing between the 350gr Hornady FP and the Cast Performance 460gr Hard Cast. I was very impressed with the Hard Cast!

Thanks for sharing Colorado!.

A heavy hard cast bullet is a flying drill.

One day I will carry out experiments with my .500express and 10bore rifle using 100ibs clayblocks.

Thanks,
I shoot a marlin 4570 also, and use the 350 grain Hornady. I think i will stay with it for elk but if i go to alaska i think about a 400 grain hard cast would be the way to go !...tj3006

I shoot a 460 cast out of wheel weights dropped into a 5 gal bucket of cold water out of a lee mold.

At 1450 out of my NO.3 Ruger yes I could go faster that load is 5 grs under max.

But the NO3 is light with out a great stock. I know that load well shoot end to end of a 200 lb hog.

No the hog didn't go far like no where DRT.

Cheap to shoot kill things well.
