I just went to a gun shop and heard that the same plant that is going to make the Model 70 has been making lever action parts also.Has anyone else herd this?I hope they make some more 25-35s if they do.The last batch of model 94s made were pretty rough fitting.I would like to see the old workmanship from the big bore 94 winchester return those were awesome made guns. What calibers would you want back?

I was talking to a guy who deals with FN regularly yesterday. He said the word was if the 94 came back it would be made in Japan. Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing.

I want a good takedown 38-55 or 356 Win in the M94. And 16" to 24" M92s, with a good working finish, would get my money. John Retired husband & grandpa "Life brings sorrow and joy alike. It is what a man does with them - not what they do to him - that is the test of his mettle." T. Roosevelt

I heard that the M94 would be back in about the Spring of 2009 and will be made in Winchester's new plant in I believe South Carolina. I got this from my ex-son-in-law who called them to order a new stock for his M70 Featherweight and he asked about the 94. He told me this yesterday so AFAIK, that's the dope on the 94. Paul B.

The gun shop that I go to said they are already making model 94 parts at the SC factory. They had a factory rep that told them they were making model 94 levers.

About eight or nine months ago, I saw all or most of the New Haven plant equipment up for auction, at one of the industrial auction sites I preview (I think it was Maynard's). As the others have stated, they may begin production in SC, but New Haven production is history. I believe that the Herstal Group only has the rights to use the Winchester name for a few more months. It will be interesting to see if Olin will sell them the brand name or rent it to them, in the first quarter of next year.

I would love to see it come back with the workmanship of the pre 64s and in 25-35 Win. a caliber that warms my heart..As a kid I shot deer and elk with one and I still do..I slip out behing my house when I draw a tag and hunt with an old Saddle Ring .25-35..It just feels good to hunt with an old friend, and it was a special gift from a special friend. Just be aware that it will most likely carry the $800 to $1000.00 price tag that the 70's will be reintroduced with. ![]()

I just read an article today, in the latest issue of "Rifle Magazine" touting the reintoduction of the Model 70, from SC. It's a control feed, and same as it ever was duplicate, but the barrel stamp had a awful look to it. One can only assume that the 94 will soon follow.
