Have a friend who just got his Uberti 1876 in 45-60. He would like to know if anyone has any smokeless load data for 300 grain cast boolits.

From Cartridges of the World.

.45-60 win. 300gr Lead IMR 4198, 25gr. Velosity 1450. Energy 1410. (This was presumably for old rifles.)

contact the Single Shot Exchange magazine and ask for the July 2006 issue. It has a write up on the Chaparral 45-60. Save lots of money, you can use 45-70 dies. Trim to 1.94". Might have to thin the rims or have your gunsmith cut the rim recess .002-.004" deeper in the barrel.
