As some of you may know, 99s before 60,000 have a 1/4” longer tang than later guns. I need a stock for one in 303. Boyd’s doesn’t make them. Would anyone suggest a source for a new stock? I have the old stock for a pattern, if anyone knows a duplicator who could copy mine and drill the bolt hole. Quick, Cheap, or Good: Pick Two

No need, its easy to cut that out of the standard pattern..1/4 is nothing to worry about..Finding an old orginal is all but impossible and if you do it will cost more than ft.knox..Used 99 stocks are high dollar and rare as hens teeth..sometime its easier to buy a blank and have it turned to a pattern for your gun.. I may have a 95% inlet 99 stock somewhere. I'll try to find it if you interested. Phil

I had a few like new ones that I custom stocked the rifle and sold the pair (forend and buttstock) for $500 each. A gunsmith who does 99s should have some, but not many custom stock 99s..
