My model 71 does not have the bolt peep sight, but the bolt has the cutouts for it. I sure would lik to add one. I have the machine shop equip to make the parts, and would just need to get the dimensions for the bolt peep sight. If someone would be willing to work with me, I will draft a set of fabrication drawings to be shared. May even make an extra set of parts. Thanks Mr Turnbull, I spoke to Mr Fellers and he was gatious enough to be very helpful. I will be working with him on my project to reverse engineer the 98A bolt peep sight. When I have the dimensions, I will gladly share them. Proof will be whether I can duplicate a sight assembly, just using my Bridgeport and Clausing lathe, without access to special tooling that Winchester may have used. There is still a high probability that it will be necessary to purchase some items, such as the knurled elevation screw.
