I have a win 1892 in 25-20 a fellow wants to sell and asked what I thought. Serial no puts it at 1903. The bore looks great, the wood is verygood+ no chips, dings etc. The metal still has most of it's blue with only a little browning on the barrel Here's the heartbreaker. It's a 24" barrel, half octo to round, button magazine, but the muzzle has clearly been either cut back (from 26?) or was cleaned up with a file. And, someone filed a second dovetail between the original dovetail for the rear sight and the reciever. I'm guessing for a differant style rear sight. Prices on-line are all over the map, can someone give me a ballpark guess as to it's value?

if it hadn't of been all hacked on, over a grand. as is maybe 400. too bad too, originals in that shape are hard to find in that caliber, a lot of them were redone into 357's.
