In the near future a Winchester Model 1886 (1894) in very nice condition will be arriving in 40-65. Anyone know where I can locate original Barnes bullests in this caliber? Thanks!

Jim, have you tried contacting Barnes? I know these are out of production, however, I have called them in the past and they have found some in the warehouse or suggested a dealer who had some old stock. It's worth a try. Good luck.

Hawk Precision manufactures bullets in essentially identical manner to Barnes Originals -- with .025- .035- .050- and .065-inch jackets rather than Barnes' .032-inch jackets. They will create bullets to your specifications. This would be an option to investigate were your search for Barnes bullets unsuccessful. Hope this helps. It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

Barnes has accepted my request for 40-65 bullets for my 1886 Winchester. I do not know how long production may take. Will advise here when I hear a timeline/cost. Thanks! Jim
