Been looking for a new Winchester M92 in .44 Mag for my Grandson. Does Winchester still make them?? Been looking for almost 2 years. Thanks!

Winchester themselves hasn't made lever actions for several years but BACO does import them for Winchester from Miroku in Japan, most recently I believe was the 1873 model which looked very good. Their bolt guns and some shotguns are made in Portugal and imported by BACO for Winchester. https://www.winchesterguns.com...ms-manufactured.html Steve......... I'll take a look.Seems like the big internet sellers would have them if they were being made but they may be taking a break?

That sucks, I guess they blame it on Covid. I think the 92 is my favorite lever gun with the 73 next. Steve........ NRA Patron Life Member GOA Life Member North American Hunting Club Life Member USAF Veteran

I hope like hell I live long enough to get lucky on a 92?

Winchester seem to bring out their older models periodically these days and in limited runs in order to generate demand. Configurations can vary as well. For similar money I’d look for a lightly used Browning 92 in 44 mag. They were made at the same factory as current Winchester production, but don’t have the lawyer inspired tang safety and rebounding hammer.

I was thinking more "In Person" Kinda like to kick the tires before parting with the cash, I'm kinda funny that way.

the Brownings are good solid 'machine fit' like guns. their only [in my eyes] downfall is they will not take a round any longer than the 1.60 SAAMI shows. there is probably some 94's in 44 mag out there still. they are a little click clacky, but function 100% of the time, and will take a bit longer length. their real issue is the rifling is many and shallow, and they prefer a larger diameter bullet [yes in jacketed too] and of course the Rossi's [I have like 14 or 15 rossi's] yeah I like them. but if it were me I'd look for an older [pre Taurus] one,, and I'd make a wooshing sound taking my wallet out if I found another Navy Arms built rifle.[late 80's early 90's] my Buddy has one of the newer Winchester 92's, and it is a very nice rifle, I'd buy one sight unseen and not even think twice if I had the extra cash on hand. they are on par with the Browning's but without all the bling and gloss.

Not trying to hijack the thread but why doesn't Miroku put out their rifles as their own line of lever and bolt actions in the US instead of manufacturing the rifles for Browning and Winchester? That's what I think also but it looks like they would think they could make more for themselves instead of Winny and Browney but then again I'm not privy to their inner workings of management.
