I have a Savage mod 99 with these features: 250-3000, serial #689298, slender schnable fore-end, plain checkering on fore-end, and grip area, metal butt-plate, rotary magazine with counter, safety on lever, open sights, rounded end on lever, I believe barrel is about 24"(don't have it with me now), letter "R" stamped on left side of receiver, pin pops up on top of receiver, wood is plain, has sling swivels that rotate 360degrees (don't know if it came with them). What "letter" model 99 is it? (how can you tell)? Is it considered a lightweight or featherweight? When was it made? Stock and metal are in great shape, with no dings, and very few small scratches. I believe my dad got in the 1950's & I'd bet it's had fewer than 300 rounds fired through it. Any idea as to value, desirability, quality, & how many were made in this configuration? | ||
