My father in law took me down to show me some old guns that he had stored away. The last one he showed me was this 1876 Winchester 45-60 with a long heavy octagon barrel and what looked like a tubular magazine. I looked all over for a serial number but could not find one. Does anyone know a value on this piece?

Condition means everything on the value of most guns; it is worth somewhere between $500 and $5000, maybe more, maybe less. Look on the lower tang for the serial #.
